 Seventh grade are hard at work on a variety of ventures. 

This morning they sent dozens of sandwiches that they had prepared to an organization called Circle of Hope. They will help to provide meals for those experiencing homelessness locally.

Seventh graders had a sweet lesson in math this week.  Using m & m's, students practiced estimation, sorting, graphing and analyzing.  They calculated the mean, median, mode and standard deviation of their own individual bag of m & m's.

• Autism Awareness and Acceptance Tag Day- Friday, April 23. Please bring in $1 and wear blue. Money raised will go to The Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support.  

• April is Arab American Heritage Month. If you or someone you know would be willing to share with a class, a division , or multiple groups to enhance our celebration in any way, please email jmyers@holychildacademy.com , and we will make it as easy as possible.

Amidst all the activity of Spirit Week, our seventh grade students were hard at work on several projects. In science, they engaged in a planning process to tackle issues of food scarcity in a population.  In language arts, the students completed their video recording of their adaptation of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. After reading the play, the students worked in different small groups to rewrite each scene. In the science lab, Zayda worked with her partner Andrew to consider the possible effects of their proposed solutions.

• DCVAC (Delaware County Victim Assistance Center) will be facilitating classroom presentations from March 15th through March 18th.
